1. Privacy Commitment

I, the undersigned, Mustapha MASTOUR, author of the Ember application, distributed by Apple Inc., commit to strictly respecting the confidentiality of data to which I may have access in the course of my activity.

As such, I commit to never transmit or sell personal information concerning users of said application, to which I may have access in the following situations:

1. Email exchanges with users, which may reveal their identity, email address, or phone number. I commit to never disclose this information to third parties.

As the developer of the Application, I want to clarify that I have no access to your fasting and health data which is stored locally on your device. My role is limited to application maintenance and email support.

3. Data Stored Locally

Important: All your data is stored locally on your device (iPhone/iPad) only. It is never transmitted to external servers.

The Ember application stores the following types of data on your device:

  • - Fasting data: fasting periods, durations, session history
  • - Health data: weight, health goals, habits (if voluntarily provided)
  • - Usage data: application usage statistics, preferences
  • - Settings: application preferences, reminders

    • Data managed by third parties:

  • - Authentication: if you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, your identity is managed by these services (according to their own policies)
  • - Subscriptions: managed directly by the Apple App Store

    • 4. Use of Data

    Your personal data is processed locally on your device exclusively for:

  • - Application operation: tracking your fasting periods, calculating statistics, displaying your progress
  • - Personalization: adapting the application to your preferences and goals
  • - Reminders and notifications: sending local notifications for your fasting sessions

    • Important:

  • - Your fasting and health data never leaves your device
  • - No analysis or processing is performed on external servers
  • - We have no access to your personal data
  • - We never sell your data to third parties

    • 5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

    In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the local processing of your data is based on:

  • - Your consent: for local storage of health data and fasting tracking on your device
  • - Contract execution: for the provision of application services

    • You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting the application from your device.

    6. Data Security and Storage

    The security of your data is ensured by local storage on your device:

  • - Local storage only: all your data remains on your device (iPhone/iPad)
  • - No transmission: your fasting and health data is never sent to external servers
  • - iOS security: your data benefits from native iOS protection (encryption, application sandbox)
  • - No external access: neither I nor any third party has access to your personal data
  • - Complete control: you maintain absolute control over your data on your device

    • This local approach guarantees the highest level of privacy for your sensitive data.

    7. Data Sharing

    Local architecture = maximum privacy

    Your fasting and health data is never shared because it remains only on your device.

    Third-party services used by the application:

  • - Apple Sign In / Google Sign In: if you choose to authenticate, your identity is managed by Apple or Google (according to their own policies)
  • - Apple App Store: subscription management (Apple handles payments)
  • - Email support: only information you voluntarily choose to share in your emails

    • Important: I have no access to your fasting data stored on your device. I can only see what you voluntarily send me by email.

    8. Your Rights (GDPR)

    In accordance with GDPR, you have the following rights:

    Regarding your local data (fasting, health):

  • - Full access: you have complete access to your data via the application
  • - Modification: you can modify your data directly in the application
  • - Deletion: you can delete your data at any time by uninstalling the application
  • - Portability: your data is stored locally, you maintain absolute control

    • Regarding support emails:

    If you have contacted me by email, you can:

  • - Request deletion of our exchanges
  • - Request a copy of our communications

    9. Data Retention

    Local data:

  • - Your fasting and health data is retained only on your device
  • - It persists as long as you keep the application installed
  • - Immediate deletion when you uninstall the application
  • - No copy on external server

    • Support emails:

  • - Kept in my email inbox to ensure consistent support
  • - You can request their deletion at any time

    • iCloud backups:

    If you enable iCloud backups on your device, your data may be included in automatic backups managed by Apple.

    10. Third-Party Services

    The Ember application uses the following third-party services:

  • - Apple Sign In: optional authentication via Apple (your identity data is managed by Apple)
  • - Google Sign In: optional authentication via Google (your identity data is managed by Google)
  • - Apple App Store: application distribution and subscription management

    • Important: These services never receive your fasting or health data. Only your authentication is managed by these platforms.

    We may update this privacy policy from time to time. In case of significant changes, we will inform you via the application or by email. We encourage you to regularly review this page.
